MSP is generally a really awesome place, but there are some users you have to watch out for. Here are some examples of scamming on MSP.

"HACKERS"

MovieStarPlanet is known for having "hackers", users who trick others into giving them their account information in order to break into their account. Many users say that their accounts have been hacked into with illegal cheating. Most of the time, users who claim to have been hacked are looking for attention.  Famous "hackers" include: The Dolly, Anonymous, Grim Reaper, LUCKYRED, and many more. These "hackers" are known as "Anti-Moviestars" Because they are everything that a moviestar is not.

How To Avoid Being "Hacked":

  • Don't tell anyone your account information. If you tell people your password, it is very easy for them to get into your account. If anybody on MSP asks for your password, report and block that person.
  • If you see a famous "hacker" in a chat room, DO NOT try to socialize/befriend them. I suggest you block them to avoid any nuecence.
  • If someone claims to be a "hacker", simply block that person, and do not come in any social contact with them. If you try to report them, your report can be seen as fake by a Moderator, and you can be banned if this happens more than once.

There are a plethora of fake "hackers" in the chatrooms. These users create accounts, and try to scare others by pretending to be a famous "hacker". Don't be afraid of these users, as they cannot get into your account. Simply either ignore, or block them. Do NOT report them

"I LOST ALL MY ITEMS! HELP ME BY GIVING ME AN AUTO OR WISHY!"

Some users pretend to have "lost" their fame or items and will ask others to help them by giving them an autograph or giving them a gift. Don't fall for this! Usaully, this is NOT true and the people asking you for "help" really just want to scam you. You cannot lose fame on Movie Star Planet and it is very rare that a hacker will steal somebody's items. If somebody claims to have lost their fame or items or if they say they have been hacked at a high level and they ask for an autograph, wishy or anything else they are usually lying.

"IF YOU GIVE ME AN AUTOGRAPH OR WL I CAN GIVE YOU ONE!"

Don't trust people who say this. They are normally lying and will not give you an auto, greet or WL if you give them one. (But as MSP is getting older, more and more people can be trustworthy. Make sure you really know a person before giving them just anything. Ask them to explain and then decide for yourself what is right.)

WHERE DO YOU LIVE? WHAT'S YOUR FULL NAME? WHAT'S YOUR PHONE NUMBER?

People who ask you for personal information are dangerous. Don't EVER give out this kind of stuff ANYWHERE online. If a user on MSP asks for your name, school, town, adress or wants you to do something inappropriate, BLOCK THEM.
