Looks are a creative feature on MovieStarPlanet that allows the player to share and save an outfit they have created of either their own avatar or another Moviestar's. The player will earn fame when a look they've created receives loves, and starcoins when a look they've created is purchased by another Moviestar.

History

2010 or 2011: Looks are introduced.
Late 2011: Introduced winter background for looks made during the winter season. This feature was removed shortly after, but players can still view old looks with this background.
November 2013: Players now have the option to download a high-resolution image of a look with a transparent background.
May 2015: "Love It" button is redesigned.
Mid 2019: Looks that have been created/modified on the mobile app will show a stylized background.
Mid 2020: Players now have the option to buy the looks of avatars of the opposite gender.
January 2022: Players now have the option to change the colors of the border and background of the look.
March 2022: Overhaul of the user interface
- Added a "New" section
- Added a "Top" section
- Added a "Mine" section
- Added a "Friends" section
July 2022: The larger view for a look has been changed to match the design of the main user interface.

Buying from looks

Players are able to buy other users' looks by navigating to their look and clicking "buy". The player will be taken to a shopping screen with their avatar dressed in the look's items, where they can modify the colors and add extra accessories. Looks bought by another player will earn the creator a 10% profit in starcoins.

Limitations

Exclusive items, such as diamond items, retired clothing, and clothing from upgrade packages, are unavailable to be purchased from looks.
VIP items included in a look will show on the buyer's avatar, but will not be available for purchase if you are non-VIP.
A maximum of 12 items from a look will be available for purchase to the user. There is no way to choose what items will be available to buy if the look has over 12 items.

Bugs & Glitches

Players were able to buy looks from avatars of the opposite gender by switching from a look that had an avatar (which couldn't be their own) of the same gender to a look that had an avatar of the opposite gender and quickly clicking "buy". (Patched)
There was a period of time where the usernames of commenters were listed as just "Username" and the dates of their comments were listed as "Date". (Patched)
Some looks will be dated as 12/1/99 or Thu Feb 1 2001. (Unpatched)

Trivia

Looks created on the app will have a different background than looks created on the website.
Looks were the last of the main features to receive a new appearance.
Prior to 2013, there used to be an option to sort your own looks by date created, loves, and purchases.
