Photos are a creative feature in MovieStarPlanet that allows users to upload photos and interact with other user's photos. Users under the age of 13 are unable to post photos, but can view, comment, and "Love" photos. Any photos uploaded can be made public or friends only. Users on the mobile app can also take photos and upload them by using the "Use Camera" option. VIPs can upload nine photos a day, while Non-VIPs can only upload three.

Photo Sharing Rules

Photos must not break the Photo Sharing Rules, or the photo will not be uploaded.

1. Never share photos showing text or numbers. You shouldn't post addresses or other sensitive information in MSP.
2. Before sharing photos of other people, always ask for their permission.
3. Bullying and being hurtful through sharing images is not tolerated. Don't bully or intentionally hurt another user.
4. Violent, inappropriate or offensive pictures are NOT ALLOWED. You are refrained from using gore imagery on MSP, since it's a game intended for all ages.

   

5. People in pictures should ALWAYS HAVE CLOTHES ON. Don't post inappropriate photos of other onto MSP, it's fully prohibited.

Glitches/Bugs

• Sometimes there is a glitch where a view is not registered/counted, resulting in some photos having more likes than views. This was especially apparent on August 28th, 2020, where most of the pictures on the top page in the UK server had more likes than views.
• On March 31st, 2021, the Photos feature stopped working. Any attempt to access it, either through "MovieTown" on the map or on someone's profile, would result in an infinite loading screen with an error message saying "We cannot connect to MSP. Trying to establish connection" regardless of one's own internet connection. On April 9th, 2021, the glitch was fixed and the Photos feature started working again.

• Photos were first added to the mobile app in the summer of 2014 and were originally mobile-exclusive.
• Photos were officially added on the US server on April 29th, 2015. It was added months before on other servers.
• Photos have yet to be added to the Highscores list.
• While transparent files can be uploaded, any transparency becomes black.
• Despite the fact that photos showing text or numbers is not allowed, many photos contain them.
• The "new" page of photos is prone and susceptible to being spammed and flooded with the same photo, with MSP having no system in place to detect copies or "alt" accounts. This happened in August 2021 on the UK server, with photos such as milly10012, @liberty x, and a drawing of Marge and Bart being among those being spammed.
