Just Updated
hello!
if you read this forum post by snowgem, you can see that we are not very good at keeping the themes article updated. we should begin using this thread to communicate with each other and try to update the article as soon as possible after the new theme is released!
notes
❤︎ please get the images from the competition page rather than from twitter.
❤︎ of course, please make sure the avatars are not blinking.
❤︎ please follow the format we already have going
❤︎ don't forget to name the files correctly! for example: for the theme named "Urban Witch", it should be called "Theme-UrbanWitch.png"
❤︎ special:multipleupload is helpful if we get far behind.
for now, that's all i can come up with. if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to talk to me about it. your help is appreciated!! thank you~!
I'm just looking for feedback/thoughts on whether or not we should add the plants article to the "pets" category.
Although they're not technically called pets, they're treated as pets in-game and are functionally almost identical to retired pets/pets in general.
Given that they can be taken to the pet park chatroom and exist in the app in the pet care screen (I'm not sure if you can care for them, I just know they exist there), I'd say at least one person would think they must be some type of pet.
Anyway, I'm not personally 100% sure, so I've not made the change myself.
The other day I had intended to move the 2016 themes to the old themes gallery, but when I went to, I noticed that they were not all there. So, since the article needed to be updated rather far back anyway, I decieded to brave the competitions screen and go all the way back to December 2016 to collect high quality images (that fit our ideal standards) of the themes. However, that did not work out because starting at "Spring Flowers" and continuing on...possibly forever (I went all the way back to "California Skate Park"), there was some form of graphical error/bug with every single theme image. I checked this multiple times on two different browsers and had the same issue every time. I'm not sure when this started, but I'm guessing from the way the "enter here" button was cut off on our old image of "Spring Flowers", that it started prior to when that image was uploaded this past August.
In addition to that, the "Rainbow Love" theme from this year would not load at all. There was no graphical error, it just simply would not load any assets.
As I was unable to get images of those themes, I took the images from MSP's twitter since they seem to be highest quality image available online for those themes. I'm making a note of this because MSP posts different versions of their theme images to social media and said versions generally do not have the "enter here" button on them, which would be ideal for our images, so unless necessary, please do not use these in the future.
There was also one theme that they did not post an image of to social media which was "Desert Dreamers", so that image is rather "unfortunate", but it was the best I was able to find online.
If anyone has or knows anyone who has better versions of these images, please feel free to replace them!
Additionally:
Because of issues like the one's I spoke about above, it should really be a priority of this wiki to get this article updated weekly. In addition to images, names and dates can get lost as MSP generally does not post the theme's proper name and although it's rare, sometimes they don't even post the theme at all or post it late despite it being an early theme.
I would obviously offer to do this myself, but as I am not returning to this wiki, I will not be around to do so.
That said, this is a community and so this "job" doesn't need to be placed on a single editor. There are different ways to go about handling this, but I'd recommend just creating another thread and working with each other to log this information and let each other know when you will or won't be able to take an image or get the information so someone else will hopefully step in and do so (or when you have gotten an image, but haven't uploaded it yet as you need to crop it). It may be a little confusing or hectic at first, but eventually I'm sure you'll all settle in and get an idea of what to expect and how to handle it. And of course, if someone else gets an image but you're able to get a higher quality/better one (even if it's weeks later), it's perfectly acceptable to replace the image.
(Just to clarify for anyone unaware: The "theme name", including punctuation and special characters, is what is seen in the competitions screen above any graphics for the theme, not necessarily what is listed on the theme's logo.)
I noticed the theme name for this theme was listed as just "Spring Rares".
There was a "Spring Rares" theme in 2016 that was called just that. From what I've observed when working with the themes from "recent" years, MSP generally will not use the same theme name twice (it may not even be possible for them to), so I have doubts that this is the correct name.
I also noticed that the theme logo actually says "17" on it and that MSP seems to have done that with some other themes, but ofc I didn't look at those myself, so I don't know if those names are truly accurate either.
I'm also a little curious about the name for the "September Rares" theme because although it doesn't say 17 or 2017 on the logo, the "Xmas Rares 2017" theme didn't either, but did have "2017" in the theme name.
This one is completely unrelated to the "rare week" themes, but I figured I'd mention I'm also not too sure that this theme is truly called "Merry Xmas". I don't have screenshots from that far back and I completely forgot to make notes of the names of these themes. It's probably not wrong, but I feel like the name might be too plain and could be wrong?
Anyway, I didn't realize this was a problem when I was going back through the themes, so I didn't check any of the ones already on the wiki and I'd rather not spend the time to go back again to check it.
Does anyone have a reference (screenshot, YT video, etc.) with these themes shown in the competitions screen or would anyone be willing to go back to check and post an image of their findings?
Soo, when I saw the title for this article, I thought someone had made an article about the in-game search functions (which, I'd say someone could do...but that's complicated*), but I guess not.
As some smart commenter pointed out, what the search article talks about is just a glitch/bug. The mention of this bug does have a place on the relevant shop article(/s) (which I don't believe we have yet, so we'll just note it for later), but a bug of this nature absolutely does not warrant an article of it's own.
What shows in this bug is a version of the shop module (which is what tells us it's a bug). A lot of the feature's modules have strange things like this in them and have had them for a very long time, if not forever. I've only seen a few instances where something that's in a module/file, but not yet live in-game becomes a feature or something else. In those instances, it's almost always only there for a few days before it becomes live and it's always finished/looks finished. I have seen a few things that look finished, but they've been there for a very long time and have yet to become accessible to the players. In those cases, it's better to assume it's a mod/staff-only or troubleshooting feature that isn't planned to be made live anytime soon, if ever (A good example of this is the mass delete button in the friends module. Even if it becomes available to players one day, it's more than likely not in there right now because they have a future intention of adding it to general game).
By looking at this one, you can clearly see that where a search bar might be is nothing more than a placeholder which was likely put there when this version of the items shop was originally designed in case they decieded they wanted to add a function there.
Additionally whatever this area is/was for may not necessarily be a search function despite what the word "search" may lead you to believe. That word being there is completely irrelevant to everything because it can mean lots of things. Plus, the likelihood that MSP would even add a true search function is very slim. MSP doesn't doesn't make a big deal out of item names (they mostly hide them) and they don't really have anything else to describe what an item is (e.g. The item name of a floor "cushion chair" is "What a Melon" because of the design on it), so with things as they are now, a search function would be useless and I'm sure they know that.
Tl;dr about this all so far: From what I can see, this article is unnecessary. It's about a bug, there is realistically not much to indicate this is a planned feature, and the actual search functions in-game would not require an article of it's own.
When I was more active with MSP, I would have deleted this article in an instant, but since I'm not I just wanted to double check that I'm not missing something before I delete it. So please let me know if it needs to be deleted or if there is something more to this that I'm unaware of!
I'm trying to figure out what we should call the items you get when you buy packs (provided it's not the lowest tier pack). This should honestly be simpler, but it's not, so I'm hoping to get some feedback and/or suggestions.
So far, these are the names that have come to mind and I've listed my thoughts on them:
Note: I'm using "Items" in these examples, but "Items" should be interchangeable with "clothing", "pets", "accessories", etc.
- "VIP Pack Items" - I've been leaning towards this one most, but I still don't love it because sometimes you're technically not buying a VIP pack when you get these items.
- "Top-up Pack Items" - I can't remember if this was even an "official" name or not, but this one has the opposite problem of "VIP Pack"...except I feel like it's perhaps worse with this one given you have to have VIP before you can buy this version of these packs.
- "Diamond Pack/DPack Items" - I know this is one of the most common names used in the community, but I hate that because although we could note that they're sometimes referred to as this, not all of the items are from the "Diamond Tier" (does MSP even label "tiers" like that anymore?).
I know sometimes this is also used as a replacement for "Top-up Pack", but I don't think this is a better name to use than "Top-up Pack" if that's the version we were going with.
- Just "Pack Items" - This doesn't seem horrible, but it also seems too vague/unclear and perhaps doesn't truly do a good job to describe what they even are.
- "Rares/Exclusives/Etc." - None of these names would be fitting (at least, not as a lone term) because these items are...honestly so complex, but also because these words are more-so umbrella terms.
- The word "Premium" is coming to mind to use in someway, but I also think I had a reason (which I've forgotten) why I thought that it'd be bad to use "premium".
Edit: I believe the reason had to do with diamonds as that is the "premium" currency on MSP and thus all diamond items would kinda be considered "premium items", but are absolutely nothing like VIP pack items.
Also, I'm not asking because I'm concerned with how it's referred to on the VIP article (if we word that slightly different, given the content of the article, it probably makes more sense not to use one of these other names).
Some of you may not have been around to know what this is, but quite a few years ago there used to be a button for an "MSP TV" feature in MovieTown. I don't really remember much about it because I couldn't have cared less about it and probably only looked at it twice (no joke, lol), but I'm pretty sure it was just a different interface from the youtube module (I think it might have had a colored background...or at least, the later version of it if there was one prior to MSPs big site overhaul.) and played the "channel" "MSP TV". I think it...had to of been different from the YouTube one because YT also used to have a button in MovieTown at one point. That all said, I feel like I'm missing a big part of it or getting something wrong because it's just been too long.
So, I was hoping to get more information about it from anyone who had information.
Also screenshots of the module would probably be the most helpful because I couldn't find one on google (with a quick search, but I'm 100% sure there are images out there that COULD be found). I have images of it(the button) in MovieTown and I think I even have the file for it, so we're good there...I just want screenshots from "inside" the feature.
So, I'm not questioning their names or anything (I know for 100% sure that these are the correct names), but I'm trying to figure out if there was an in-game or official MSP "announcement" of sorts of their names...or were they perhaps mentioned in a magazine?
I think it would be really good information to add to the page and I'm pretty sure my method of confirming their names was something weird like downloading some file that may or may not even still be live and/or under the same name? Though for some reason I also have a distant memory of their names being mentioned in-game? The careers have been changed a few times, so I'm thinking the dialog in one of the older versions may have had their names (or at least first names).
Edit: I'm also pretty sure whatever mentioned their names is what mentioned that Coco and Caesar were siblings.
Also I believe Coco and Caesar's last name is "Calloway". Though, I didn't add it because I'm not 100% sure and...I don't quite remember my source for that.
Edit2: We just need to find our source for Coco and Caesar's last name now!
(P.S. - Yes, I know Starla has the info card, but I definitely knew her first name before I found that, so I'm asking for things other than that.)
Hey there!
So at the time I added these sections and photos to the article, I believe all (or most of) the accessories and shoes listed were unisex, but I see now that we have some gendered shoes and some clearly female accessories.
I think someone has already started on the shoes (not sure if those cartoon shoes are really female only, though?), but if you guys want to start working on a list over the next few weeks in this thread to separate things into the following categories, that would be awesome! (I'd do it myself, but I don't know much anymore and trying to work on a bunch of other stuff here):
- Unisex Shoes
- Female Shoes
- Male Shoes
- Unisex Accessories
- Female Accessories
- Male Accessories (If there are any?)
Probably just post a list of the file links (well, titles) and name the list the category they go to or just something else that (hopefully) will make it relatively easy to add them back into the gallery in source mode.
Also, just as a general reminder: Event, diamond pack, and other items that were never sold in the store are not retired items, so please don't add them to this page and if you see any there, remove them!
the friends page is a stub 100%. Can a few people please help me edit because I don't know that much about MSP? Lol. I added only the basic info.

what i posted about lushhh is true. Lucky Lily was the original owner of the account and someone hacked it. Its all in her video. someone please add the fact back before someone tries deleting it
Okay, so I think I need to discuss this because the monthly Diamond Package items are not included into the Reitred Clothing page, but why? I believe some people said because they were never purchaseable in the game, but clothing such as Chick Slippers are in this page, and they were diamond package items.
The diamond package items are retired after their season passes (month) where they're available for purchase, I wanted to start a discussion because if I did add clothing from diamond packs, I didn't want the edits to be reversed. Clothing such as this are diamond pack exclusives but are still retired.
A solution could be "Retired VIP Package Clothing", but it would probably just be a waste when there is a Retired Clothing page.
I'm not sure, leave what you think.
I don't know if this is the right board to post this in, but shouldn't we add Diamond Pack clothing to the retired clothing page because most diamond pack clothes are specific for that diamond pack and arent added into the MSP store for purchase. Older diamond pack items are more rare such as 'Chickling Dress' or 'Festival Rain Poncho'.
For anyone seeing this later/who didn't check the recent activity...this edit.
Basically, I had this version of the article that I had worked on quite a long time ago, but as you can see from the notes and such in there...I never quite finished it. That said, it's still a major improvement to the current article and there is a lot of information there, so I figured I might as well not let it go to waste. If someone could clean it up and/or finish it, that would be really great! Also, double checking it for accuracy would be useful since I don't know if anything has changed...I do believe I updated it and corrected things some time around May this year, so from around that time I think (if not, it's from June 2015).
To clear up what a couple of my notes mean:
- The first instance of "[[Chart]]" I believe was intended to be a chart (using a table, ofc) of pricing of each package, with possibly using a tabber to include pricing from other servers. I don't think this is truly the best/most ideal place for this chart and I don't recall if I planned on putting diamond and starcoin amounts.
- The second instance of "[[Chart]]" is probably more self explanatory, it was intended to be a chart that would show the rewards for winning competitions in different placements and categories. I don't recall exactly how I was going to set this up and again, I don't recall if I planned on putting diamond and starcoin amounts.
- The "Tier Based Perks" section was meant to be in a normal wiki table and have proper/cleaner titles and info, but obviously it's not that right now. Lol. Hopefully each title makes sense (or at least will once you look at the related data). Also, I intended on putting an icon for each vip tier/type inside the table too. (And no I don't know why "Reg" has a q instead of a g. Lol.)
- This is not noted, but the "visual changes" section was meant to link to a gallery page that would illustrate each change (and each change in relation to different types/colors).
- The reason the exclusive items section has "(See full article)" at the top is because it was intended to link to...well, an article about exclusive items (I believe I may have briefly touched on this in a discussion related to retired items somewhere). That was going to use an updated/modified version of this template.
- I don't think I ever noted anything about the fame gift boxes on the package "ad" screen, so that should be added.
- This is also not noted, but I was hoping to have visual representation of the two things noted in the trivia section in a gallery. (It shouldn't be too hard to find images somewhere to represent the first one.)
- And from a list I have, these were the rest of the images I was hoping would be in the gallery: VIP purchase page/s (Oldest/Older, Super (meaning when super vip was around), New), VIP details page/s (Oldest/Older, Super, New), a VIP gift certificate (not the purchasing screen, but rather an image of a gift certificate .pdf), the VIP ended pop-up, a version of the pop-up when VIP is bought/redeemed, and an image of a friend getting vip (what shows on the bottom of the screen).
Annnnd, I think that's all I had to cram into this post. Sorry it's kind of long, but hopefully it all makes sense. Happy editing!
(Note: I most likely won't end up answering any questions, so if you have any, try to discuss them with each other rather than direct them at me, and/or go with your best bet.)
Hi,
A page I have recently written is a candidate for deletion. How can I fix this? What is wrong with my page?
